Red is all the rage for Henkel cosmetics

Since the start of this year, Henkel’s cosmetics products are being delivered to major French, Belgian and Dutch retailers on red pallets. LPR, European No.2 for pallet-pooling, signed its first agreement in January with the German group to provide 200,000 pallets a year to its distribution hubs at Château-Thierry (Aisne, France) and Kampenhout (Belgium).

LPR develops a ground-breaking pallet-management solution with RFID

In the framework of a European pilot project for ‘intelligent’ pallets, LPR has developed leading-edge RFID equipped pallets with rewritable user memory. These chips will allow users for the first time to entrust pallets to carry data on their products.

LPR passes the 100 million euro mark and opens a subsidiary in Germany

After three years of 10% annual growth, turnover for the European No.2 in pallet-pooling reached 95.7 million euros in 2007. In the first quarter of 2008 it will break through the symbolic 100 million euro barrier (compared to 87 million in 2006) - a new record. Another key event for the start of 2008 will be the opening of a sixth subsidiary, in Germany, bringing to nine the number of European countries covered by a full delivery and collection service for the famous red pallets.

LPR grows with Kimberly-Clark

Kimberly-Clark, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of consumer hygiene products, has renewed its contract with pallet pool operator LPR. The three-year contract extension will see LPR continue to handle distribution for all Kimberly-Clark’s Kleenex brand tissue and Andrex toilet paper into regional distribution centres throughout the UK. Additionally, LPR is soon to take on all Kimberly-Clark’s movement of standard 1000 x 1200 mm pallets across Europe.

LPR offers its customers innovative solutions

LPR, Europe’s Number 2 pallet-pooling operator, has launched a new service that simplifies customer payment and book-keeping procedures by issuing electronic invoices. Starting with Spain, the service will soon be rolled out in the other eight countries covered by LPR.

LPR and Heinz go Dutch

Heinz (JPG) LPR has signed a new contract with Heinz, the world’s favourite ketchup brand. LPR will supply pallets into the company’s factory in Elst in the Netherlands for distribution into the UK, Irish and Dutch markets. The deal is expected to involve over 300,000 pallet movements.

Velours Noir on red pallets

Kraft (JPG) LPR, Europe’s number two pallet-pooling operator has just signed a ‘Full Service’ contract with Kraft Foods, one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies. Three hundred thousand wooden, LPR pallets (format 800x1200mm) will be used at two of the Kraft Group’s French sites: the coffee production unit at Lavérune and the national distribution hub at Crépy-en-Valois.

LPR: fifteen years of pallet-handling

In just 15 years, LPR has come to the fore as a major pallet pooling operator. Founded in 1992, the Toulouse-based group is now number 2 in Europe. With an average 15% market share and five subsidiaries covering eight European countries, LPR handles 33 million pallet movements annually and is increasing its turnover every year. To celebrate its first 15 years, LPR is reaffirming its European dimension. Its website has been completely redesigned and improved and is henceforth available in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese and soon also in Dutch. In addition, LPR has created ‘myLPR’, a portal where customers can place and follow orders as well as track pallet movements.

A pallet full of ‘tempting’ desserts for LPR!

Senoble (GIF) Senoble, France’s third largest ultra-fresh dairy products group, has selected LPR’s pallet pooling system to manage its deliveries throughout Europe. LPR will handle the supply of pallets to the group’s eight production sites, serving its markets in Spain, Benelux and the United Kingdom. This is expected to represent 450,000 pallet movements per year.

Double-digit growth for LPR!

For the second year running, the LPR Group posted a profit with a turnover of more than 87 million euros, representing an increase of more than 10% (compared to 79 million euros and 13% in 2005). With full coverage of Western Europe, LPR has thus confirmed its second place in the European market for pallet pooling.

Following a £70 million investment in a new site in Baglan, South Wales, one of Europe’s leading tissue manufacturers, Intertissue, has retained LPR as its pallet pool provider, in a deal which will see LPR’s pallet volumes increase by four times with the Cardiff-based company.

Ireland - the eighth market for LPR

Jane Gorick (GIF) LPR, Europe’s number two pallet pool operator, is gaining a foothold in a new market - Ireland. LPR UK has just opened two hubs in Ireland for the delivery, collection and sorting of pallets for major Irish retailers. After the UK, Belgium, Spain, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Portugal, Ireland is LPR’s eighth market. Today, the group offers total cover of Western Europe for its customers specialising in fast-moving consumer goods, who are increasingly utilising pallet fleets for rental. In Ireland, LPR is already achieving 200,000 pallet movements a year and it aims to reach one million by the end of 2008.

LPR strengthens its management team with two new Chief Executives

Following the management buy-out (MBO) of LPR last July, the company’s President Torsten WOLF is to strengthen his management team by appointing two Chief Executives: Xavier GOUBE and Thierry LEMAITRE. Xavier GOUBE will remain at the head of LPR France, whereas Thierry LEMAITRE, currently the LPR Group’s Administrative and Financial Director, will henceforth also be in charge of Group Asset Management.
